Whenever two different metals interact there's a risk of corrosion. Prowler Proof ForceField is welded instead of being held together by screws or rivets. This means that there are no untreated or raw edges to increase the risk of corrosion when metals interact.
Prowler Proof ForceField uses Meshtec 316 marine grade stainless steel mesh, which is powder coated with Meshtec's patented formula that ensures superior corrosion resistance performance.
And as the only security screen manufactured in a fully automated factory, Prowler Proof screens are powder coated AFTER the assembly — this eliminates the risk of damage to the paint during assembly.
These features make Prowler Proof ForceField security & insect screens more corrosion resistant than other window & door screens and we have the test results to prove it. ForceField mesh has passed a gruelling 1,000 hour acetic acid salt spray test (AS2331.3.2) and a 10,000 hour neutral salt spray test (AS 2331.3.1).

ACETIC ACID SALT SPRAY TEST (AS 2331.3.2)
THE TEST
The 1,000 hour acetic acid salt spray test is pure torture for a security screen.
Acetic acid salt spray is not only saltier than sea water, it's also 10,000 times more acidic.
The test takes place in an enclosed chamber at a temperature of +35ºC with almost 100% humidity.
THE RESULTS
Passed.
ForceField is one of only two complete security screens on the Australian market to pass the acetic acid salt spray test – Prowler Proof Protec is the other.
ForceField's 316 marine grade stainless steel mesh has survived a 10,000 hour neutral salt spray test as well.

NEUTRAL SALT SPRAY TEST (AS 2331.3.1)
THE TEST
ForceField has been tested to the Australian Standard 2331 which requires the product to survive a 1,000 hour neutral salt spray test.
This test is an accelerated corrosion process that takes place in an enclosed chamber.
The spray is saltier than sea water and the temperature is maintained at +35ºC with almost 100% humidity.
THE RESULTS
Passed.
ForceField® is one of very few complete security screens that have passed the test – most manufacturers only test the mesh.
ForceField's 316 marine grade stainless steel mesh has actually survived a 10,000 hour salt spray test.

INSECT PROTECTION
ForceField is a security screen and insect screen in one. The openings in the mesh measure 1.5 mm x 1.6 mm – big enough for you to enjoy your view, small enough to keep just about all small creatures outside where they belong.
MOSQUITO PROTECTION TEST
THE TEST
In the absence of a relevant Australian test, the test was conducted in Thailand with dengue fever mosquitoes – a species native to Australia.
The security screen was measured by its ability to keep mosquitoes away from a food source.
THE RESULTS
With 600 mosquitoes bred in a small cage, only one (1) managed to get through to the food source within 24 hours.
At the completion of the test (72 hours) only two (2) mosquitoes had passed through the ForceField® screen.

ACCESS CONTROL
Prowler Proof ForceField allows unassisted access for pets or people, through the addition of optional access control accessories, such as keying locks alike, pet doors for family pets and solid panels for easier wheelchair accessibility.
FORCEFELD PERFORMANCE - FALL PREVENTION
FALL PREVENTION
The National Construction Code (NCC) / Building Code of Australia (BCA) requires openable windows in bedrooms of new residential buildings – where the floor below the window is more than 2m above the surface beneath – to be protected to reduce the risk of falling.
Windows must be fitted with either a device to restrict the window opening or a suitable screen, so a 125mm diameter sphere cannot pass through. The device or screen must also be able to withstand an outward horizontal force of 250N (25kg).
Prowler Proof ForceField meets the fall prevention requirements of The National Construction Code (NCC).
