Like the name says — and unlike traditional window screens — Prowler Proof's Hinge Window security screen is not fixed, it is hinged — so it can be locked and unlocked, opened and closed with the use of the dual action handle.
The multi-point locking system is European designed and locks the sash into the frame around the perimeter of the window.
When unlocked — it is the only window screen on the market that is removable — making it easier to clean your windows and screens, and making it possible to operate your adjustable windows with a security screen in place.

LOCKABLE HANDLE WITH NIGHT-GLOW® KEY
Prowler Proof Hinge Window Security Screens now come with an optional lockable handle which has been designed for use in fall prevention settings for second-storey residences.
This handle option, which includes a locking mechanism and key, means that there is less risk of accidental window opening.
When combined with the lockable Night-Glow® handle — and appropriate installation — our Hinge Window security screen can be used as a fall prevention window that fulfills the requirements of the National Construction Code.
The NCC states that any window placed more than two metres above the ground must be secured with a fall prevention screen or restriction device that can withstand an outward force of 250NM (25kg).
The key is made from Night-Glow® glow-in-the-dark material which allows you to quickly find the key in the dark — important in emergency situations (and when you don't want to wake the family!).
The glow will last up to eight hours and the luminescent material has a 1:1 charging/emitting ratio — if exposed to sunlight for eight hours, it will glow, declining in brightness over time, for eight hours.
